英語作文 篇1
My mother and I went to the zoo this summer vacation.
There were many people there. In front of the elephant’s house, we saw a little elephant. It was very funny. It was about 1.5 meters tall and its body was just like a wall. Its legs were like four little trunks. Its head swung from one side to the other. So did its long nose about 0.8 meter long. And the nose was just like a water pipe. On its head were bright eyes and big ears.
Then I saw the elephant rolling up some grass and putting it into its mouth with its nose. How interesting it was! Sometimes the little elephant was very naughty, but sometimes very quiet.

Through the above analysis, I believe that the positive aspects overweigh the

英語作文 篇3
Confidence
The cartoon aims at informing us of the significance of confidence. Definitely, no once can deny the importance of it. confidence enables us to achieve our objectives more smoothly and realize our dreams more rapidly. By being confident. We are more likely to win others’ trust and support, discover our potentials and overcome those seemingly-invincible and formidable setbacks. To further illustrate the importance of being confident, I would like to take Jeremy Lin as a case in point: how could he, once and ordinary and obscure basketball player at Harvard University, achieve unprecedented success in NBA?
Accordingly, at no time should we underestimate the power of confidence. Furthermore, when coming with setbacks and bottlenecks, instead of giving up easily, what we must do is to face it with confidence and fight against it without courage. “confident people never get hurt.” Abraham Lincoln also once said.
英語作文 篇4
Some people say that the government should not put money on building theatres and sports stadiums. They should spend more money on medical care and education.
Do you agree or disagree?
Much discussion concerning allocation of resources assumes that the government should spend money on medicine and education rather than on theatres and sports stadiums. In my opinion, this issue should be examined from the angle of whether the investment benefits the great majority of the population.
The institutions of medical care and education, undoubtedly, should receive priority in the allocation of a governments expenditures, at the thought of millions of children from deprived backgrounds who now get a substandard education, and who would require a relatively high quality of education if they are to enjoy anything approaching equality of opportunity in later life. Another pressing need of society is improvement of medical care for the adult poor, for the aged, and so forth down the list.
Theatres and sports stadiums are institutions for promoting human culture. A successful theatrical event is an exciting and stimulating experience, whether it occurs in a grand theatre or a high school auditorium. Spectators as well as those involved in the production feel this excitement. Sports stadiums, on the other hand, attract millions of spectators to watch professionals play every year. Many more millions watch games on television, read about them in newspapers, and discuss them with their friends. Therefore, can we say that these are unnecessary public expenditures the government should ignore?
英語作文 篇5
a summary of the physical and chemical nature of life must begin, not on the earth, but in the sun; in fact, at the sun's very center. it is here that is to be found the source of the energy that the sun constantly pours out into space as light and heat. this energy is liberated at the center of the sun as billions upon billions of nuclei of hydrogen atoms collide with each other and fuse together to form nuclei of helium, and in doing so, release some of the energy that is stored in the nuclei of atoms.
the output of light and heat of the sun requires that some 600 million tons of hydrogen be converted into helium in the sun every second. this the sun has been doing for several thousands of millions of years. the nuclear energy is released at the sun's center as high-energy gamma radiation, a form of electromagnetic radiation like light and radio waves, only of very much shorter wavelength. this gamma radiation is absorbed by atoms inside the sun to be reemitted at slightly longer wavelengths. this radiation, in its turn is absorbed and reemitted. as the energy filters through the layers of the solar interior, it passes through the x-ray part of the spectrum eventually becoming light. at this stage, it has reached what we call the solar surface, and can escape into space without being absorbed further by solar atoms.
a very small fraction of the sun's light and heat is emitted in such directions that after passing unhindered through interplanetary space, it hits the earth.
