蘇珊: (Thinking) I don`t become CEO of this company to see us miss our targets. (心想)我成為這家公司的首席執(zhí)行官可不是為了看著公司無(wú)法達(dá)到預(yù)期的業(yè)績(jī). 蘇珊: Bill, these charts from the fincace department are not encouraging. 比爾.這些財(cái)務(wù)部門(mén)提供的圖表不太理想. 比爾: I know. We`re failing far short of our revenue projections. 我知道.我們遠(yuǎn)沒(méi)有達(dá)到預(yù)算的收入. 蘇珊: That`s right. And take a look at this chart. It shows our fourth-quarter results compared to last year`s. 沒(méi)錯(cuò).看一下這張圖表.圖中把我們第四季度的成果和去年同期做了對(duì)比. 比爾: That isn`t good. Revenues are down-down nearly twenty percent compared to last year. 表現(xiàn)不好.收入很低--幾乎比去年同期低了百分之二十. 蘇珊: I`m afraid so. And it gets worse. This chart shows investors` expectations. 恐怕是這樣.而且它還有繼續(xù)下滑的趨勢(shì).這張圖顯示了投資者的預(yù)期目標(biāo). 比爾: They expect a ten percent increase. We`ll never be able to make that. 他們希望能有百分之十的增量.我們絕不可能達(dá)到. 蘇珊: Have some faith! Where there`s a will, there`s a way, right? 要有信心! 比爾: With back-to school season around the comer we might be able to drum up more orders. But, there just wouldn`t be enough time to get supplies in, processed, and shipped. 學(xué)校即將開(kāi)學(xué).我們或許能獲得更多訂單.但是獲取材料供給.加工與運(yùn)輸?shù)臅r(shí)間就不夠了. 蘇珊: Don`t worry about logistics; focus on selling. You`ve come through for me in the past. Don`t let me down. 別擔(dān)心后勤事務(wù).專(zhuān)心銷(xiāo)售就好了.你以前就曾為我順利攻克難關(guān).別讓我失望. 比爾: Your pep talk`s encouraging. But it`s simply impossible at this stage of the ball game.
