prairie-dogging 土撥鼠效應(yīng)
Prairie-dogging refers to the practice of workers in an open-plan office raising their heads above the partitions1 surrounding their desks when they hear a loud voice or other noise. 開放式辦公室中的員工在聽到喧嘩的聲響或者其他聲音時,總?cè)滩蛔≡诟褡娱g抬頭張望,觀察四周的動靜,這就是“土撥鼠效應(yīng)”。 Whenever there's a loud sound or other unusual occurrence2, everyone pops up to look over the walls to see what's happening.
